FAQ

Where does the snow number come from?

A weather model (Open-Meteo), sampled near each resort's upper mountain and refreshed daily. It's a forecast of snowfall, not the resort's official morning report, so treat it as "worth checking" rather than gospel. Resort reports usually read a bit higher.

How do you know what's open?

Each morning we check SkiCentral's list of open ski areas. If a mountain isn't on it, we show its projected opening date from Ikon's own calendar. Closed mountains never make the Fresh tracks or Groomer lists, but they do show up in the storm forecast so you can plan.

How do you decide it's a groomer day?

Under an inch of new snow in the last 24 hours, wind under about 20 mph, sunny or partly sunny, and a high above the low teens. Basically: sunglasses weather.

What's next?

Blackout dates by pass tier, lift status, drive times from the Bay, and a "text the group chat" button. Keep checking.
